My boy is almost here!

I am 38 weeks today and as of my last week appointment I am 1cm dialated, and 70% effaced. My little boy can get here at any time now! I can't wait until my appointment this monday to find out if I have any more progress.

The nursery is pretty much completely done now and my hospital bag is packed, so now all I have to do is wait :-) I can't believe that im going to be a mommy soon!

31 week maternity pictures!

I haven't updated in awhile because I've been very busy! 3 weeks ago I took maternity pictures (im 34 weeks now wow!) I absolutely love them! Here are a few

21 weeks at Old Westbury Gardens

I went with 2 friends to OWG to take pictures. We took pictures of the gardens, mansions, and each other haha

Kicks galore!

I've been feeling little kicks for the last 2 or 3 weeks but they haven't been very strong so Brian hasn't been able to feel them. Well last night my little boy was kicking away and Brian finally felt it! It was so exciting!!!!

This last week Ive also felt my first pregnancy pains..stretching pains along with a UTI = awesome haha its been very painful but its all worth it :-)

Little Kicks!

This past week I have felt my little boy moving around and kicking in there a little bit. It feels really weird, like someone is softly tapping inside my stomach, but I love it each and every time I feel it. 

And here is my 17 week belly. This is the first week that I really think people are able to tell that I am pregnant.

It's a boy!!!!!!

I've been so busy that I haven't updated in awhile! As of tomorrow I will be 16 weeks and after my 16 week appointment on Monday, I will update with new pictures. But for now, I am going to rewind to my 12 week ultrascreen. It went really well and I got a TON of nice pictures where my little peanut looked like a real baby. I loved every minute of it. However, a few days later I got a phone call from my OBGYN's office, telling me that according to some of my measurements it seems that my cervix might be shortening so they want me to go for a test at LIJ. So a week later I had my appointment, the doctor said that my cervix looked fine! (whew, i was nervous!) and right before the doctor was done, I said "WAIT!! Can you tell if it's a boy or girl??" and he looks and says "Yup, I'm 99% sure that you will be having a boy!" We were beyond excited to find out. Now its time to figure out how we want to decorate the babies room, and figure out a name. :-)

My first sonogram

Yesterday was my first doctors appointment. As of today I am 8 weeks and 2 days. According to my doctor everything looks great! We had an internal sonogram and got to see our baby for the first time. It was amazing! Brian was so excited, he couldn't stop looking at the picture and couldn't wait to tell everyone and show everyone the picture. 

A new beginning!

I was just sitting here on my computer, procrastination doing my grad school work, and deciding what I should eat for breakfast when I decided that I didn't want to wait until tomorrow (the day my period is due) to take a pregnancy test. Then I started to think a little more about it. I had absolutely no signs of my period even remotely coming. So I went out to CVS and bought a pregnancy test. Of course even though Brian and I had been trying, I still feel like a 16 year old buying a pregnancy test- like the people in the store are thinking what is she doing buying a test? But I get the courage and buy it with some toothpaste (you know something to hide the test with when I am waiting on line).

I didn't tell Brian I was going out since he was still sleeping and I figured that I could pick up breakfast while I'm out. So I get home and go straight to hide the test in the bathroom. I didn't want him to make fun of me for buying another test and taking it before my period was due and I didn't have to go to the bathroom yet.

About an hour later, after we ate, I finally had to go to the bathroom. I fully expected it to say "not pregnant" but since I had no period symptoms, I just had to take it. Then to my surprise- it says "PREGNANT". I didn't know what to do. I originally wanted to surprise Brian in some cute and funny way with it. But he was sitting on the couch watching TV. There was no way I can hold it in until later. So I leave the bathroom and go into the bedroom. Why? I have NO idea! So I walk back out and go back into the bathroom. I decide that I'm just going to leave the test on the toilet and wait for Brian to go in and see it. But I couldn't even wait that long. I end up just telling Brian to go to the bathroom. 

I am according to my calculations- 3 weeks, 6 days

I'm PREGNANT!!!
